Crofton Girls 1st, HCC Boys 3rd at Mid-State

USD Volleyball Sweeps North Dakota Twice

For the second straight day, the University of South Dakota volleyball team swept North Dakota in three sets.  Elizabeth Junhke led the Coyotes with 25 kills over the six games in North Dakota, while Madison Jurgens recorded 74 assists in the victories.read more »

Gazelles Finish Fifth in ESD Gymnastics and Qualify for State Meet

The Yankton Gazelles have qualified for the state gymnastics meet after placing fifth in the ESD Conference championship Saturday in Huron.  Yankton totaled 136.25 in the meet as junior Alison Johnson placed fifth in the All-Around.  The state meet takes place Friday and Saturday in Watertown.read more »

Northwestern Downs Lancers in Women’s Basketball

Northwestern topped Mount Marty 73-50 in the women’s basketball contest on Saturday in Orange City, Iowa.  Sophomore Bailey Kortan led the Lancers with 17 points and senior Karlee McKinney chipped in 14.  The Mount Marty women are 4-19 on the season with their next game coming up February 17th at home against Dakota Wesleyan.read more »

Bucks Finish 8th at the Yankton Wrestling Invite

Rapid City Stevens won the Yankton Wrestling Invitational with Vermillion fourth and the Bucks eighth out of ten teams Saturday at the Summit Activities Center.  Jack Kratz of Vermillion was first at 170 pounds, while junior Paul McGlone led Yankton with a third place at 126 pounds.read more »

SDSU Rallies Past USD in Women’s and Men’s Hoops Saturday

The 23rd-ranked South Dakota State women’s team scored the final 13 points to rally past South Dakota 80-75 Saturday night in Brookings.  The Jacks remained unbeaten in Summit League play, while the Coyotes fell to 10 and 5 overall.
