Yankton County first responders were called to five vehicle crash on Highway 50 on Friday.
Yankton County Sheriff Preston Crissey says that upon arrival to the scene at the intersection of Highway 50 and 436th Avenue, multiple vehicles were blocking all lanes of traffic.
Crissey says that there were zero fatalities, but several patients were transported by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.
One of the drivers, Theresa Riibe (41) of Yankton, SD was cited for careless driving, unlicensed driver, and seatbelt restraint required for children 5-17 years of age.
The accident investigation is ongoing at this time.
