A 22-year-old female died in a single-vehicle crash near Vermillion Tuesday morning.
Preliminary crash information indicates the driver of a 2018 Chevrolet Impala was northbound on SD Highway 19, having just crossed over the Nebraska/South Dakota bridge.
The driver failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and entered the east ditch where the vehicle vaulted over a field approach and rolled. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained fatal injuries.
The name of the person involved has not been released pending notification of family members.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
