Yankton first responders and law enforcement announced Thursday that they raised $6,000 for South Dakota Special Olympics at the Battle of the Badges basketball game that occurred in February.
YPD Sergeant Jeremy McNinch says that he is glad that a friendly competition was able to raise funds for a good organization.
South Dakota Special Olympics along with local first responders and law enforcement were able to walk together across the Meridian Bridge Thursday, a moment that Yankton County Sheriff Preston Crissey says was amazing.
South Dakota Special Olympics was presented with the check after the walk.
