Yankton Man Arrested in Rollover Accident Friday

A Yankton man was arrested after a rollover accident Friday night.

According to Yankton County Sheriff Preston Crissey, first responders were called near the intersection of Rolling Hills Drive and Gavin’s Point Road for a possible rollover injury accident.

Crissey says that a deputy arrived on the scene and observed a 2016 Ford F-150 registered to Nicholas Kellen was rolled over on its top.

Crissey says that the deputy saw a male that was walking on Gavin’s Point Road near SD HWY 52 and was stopped by first responders

The male was identified as Nicolas Kellen, 37, of Yankton.

According to Sheriff Crissey, Kellen had an active warrant in Yankton County for his breach of conditions and was detained for the accident investigation.

Kellen was eventually arrested for Driving under the influence, Leaving the scene of an accident, Unlicensed driver, Contempt of court and bench warrant for breach of conditions.
