Claire Tereshinski Stays Home, Signs with Mount Marty Basketball

Yankton Gazelles Basketball standout Claire Tereshinski will be staying home to continue her academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level, as she has signed with the Mount Marty Basketball program.

Tereshinksi says that a lifelong connection to the university helped her decide to remain home.

Tereshinski spoke highly of her coaches at Yankton High School, as well as her future head coach Allan Bertram, recalling a time she suited up against Bertram when he was the head coach at Rapid City Central.

Tereshinski said that’s important for her to stay balanced and coachable to continue improving at the next level.

Former Gazelles Head Coach Matt Decker, who coached Tereshinski through her senior season, says that his parting advice to Claire as she steps to the next level is to remember the life lessons that can be taught through basketball.

Tereshinksi is currently competing in track and field before she wraps up her Gazelles athletic career. She plans to study nursing while at Mount Marty.
