Vermillion Man Sentenced on Three Charges of Child Pornography

A Vermillion man has been sentenced to a year and a half in the South Dakota State Penitentiary on three charges of possessing, manufacturing, and distributing child pornography.

Raymond O’Connor was originally charged with 10 counts, but had those charges reduced to just three counts as part of a plea bargain.

O’Connor appeared at the Clay County Courthouse in Vermillion Thursday where he was sentenced by Circuit Judge Tami Bern.

According to court documents, images were found on O’Connor’s phone in 2022 that show nude images of underage girls between the age of 10 and 14 years old.

After O’Connor’s sentence is complete, he will serve 10 years probation.
