Due to the Winter Storm Warning and Wind Chill Warning issued for our Region, the following changes have been made to Yankton School District Activities: (Friday, January 12, 2024) and (Saturday, January 13, 2024), per YSD Activities Director Ryan Mors.
Friday, January 12, 2024:
~ The Yankton HS Boys Basketball Games vs. Watertown scheduled for Friday, January 12 in Yankton have been POSTPONED until Tuesday, February 20, 2024. Game times on Tuesday, February 20 in Yankton will be the same as originally scheduled:
~ The Yankton HS Girls Basketball Games vs. Watertown scheduled for Friday, January 12 in Watertown have been POSTPONED until Tuesday, February 20, 2024. Game times on Tuesday, February 20 in Watertown will be the same as originally scheduled:
~ The Yankton HS Varsity Gymnastics Team was scheduled to compete at the Huron Invite on Friday, January 12. This invite has been POSTPONED and a potential make-up date is TBD.
~ The Yankton HS Girls Varsity Wrestling Team was scheduled to compete at the Harrisburg Girls Wrestling Tournament on Friday, January 12. This tournament has been CANCELLED and will NOT be rescheduled.
~ The Yankton HS Debate Team was scheduled to compete at the Silver Bowl Debate Tournament at SF Lincoln HS on Friday, January 12. This tournament has been CANCELLED and will NOT be rescheduled.
~ All Yankton High School/Middle School Athletic and Fine Arts Practices and Team Related Coach Rozy Sessions that were scheduled for Friday, January 12 are CANCELLED.
Saturday, January 13, 2024:
~ The Yankton HS Boys & Girls Basketball Double Header vs. O’Gorman scheduled for Saturday, January 13 in Yankton has been POSTPONED. These games have been rescheduled as SINGLE Games on DIFFERENT dates, NOT as a Double Header.
~ The Yankton HS Girls Basketball Games vs. O’Gorman have been POSTPONED until Monday, January 22 in Yankton. Game times on Monday, January 22 in Yankton will be as follows:
- JV & Freshman A – 4:00 PM
- Sophomore & Freshman B – 5:30 PM
- Varsity – 7:00 PM
~ The Yankton HS Boys Basketball Games vs. O’Gorman have been POSTPONED until Monday, January 29 in Yankton. Game times on Monday, January 29 in Yankton will be as follows:
- JV & Freshman A – 4:00 PM
- Sophomore & Freshman B – 5:30 PM
- Varsity – 7:00 PM
~ The Yankton HS Dance Team Day Camp for K-8 students was scheduled from 9:00-11:30 AM on Saturday, January 13 in the Yankton Middle School North Gym. This Day Camp has been POSTPONED until Saturday, January 20 from 1:30-4:00 PM in the Yankton Middle School North Gym. The Dance Team K-8 Day Campers were also scheduled to perform at halftime of the Yankton vs. O’Gorman Boys Basketball Game on Saturday, January 13. When the K-8 Day Campers will perform is TBD…
~ All-State Band Auditions at Brandon Valley HS on Saturday, January 13 have been CANCELLED. The SDHSAA has decided that all of this year’s auditions will be done via video recording, so they will NOT be rescheduled.
~ All Yankton High School/Middle School Athletic and Fine Arts Practices and Team Related Coach Rozy Sessions that were scheduled for Saturday, January 13 are CANCELLED.
