The Vermillion police department is currently investigating a sexual assault that happened on Pine Street in Vermillion, near the University of South Dakota campus, early Sunday morning.
The suspect has not been identified at this time, but was described as being 6 feet tall and wearing a hoodie during the time of the assault.
The victim in this case is not a USD student, but the University did notify students of the crime due to its close proximity to the campus.
