The Yankton Police Department has determined that after an on-scene investigation that an infant that was pronounced dead Wednesday had been left in a vehicle for an extended period of time.
Yankton Police Chief Jason Foote says that first responders attempted to revive the infant, but were unable to do so.
Foote says that an autopsy has been ordered and the matter is still under investigation.
