City of Yankton Announces that City Finance Officer Al Viereck Plans to Retire After 25 Years

The city of Yankton has announced that City Finance Officer Al Viereck will be retiring.

Viereck has served in the role since 1998 and will be working with Mayor Stephanie Moser and the City Commission to set an official date for his retirement as well as a transition plan.

Mayor Moser says that Viereck has spent a lot of time, energy, and passion on the city finance over the past 25 years and that the city is grateful for his commitment.

The city says that Lisa Yardley, the city’s Deputy Finance Officer, will be promoted to Interim City Finance Officer once Viereck retires.
