The Yankton Police Department responded to a three-vehicle accident on 4th and Broadway involving a Yankton County Sheriff’s Deputy Friday.
Yankton Police Chief Jason Foote says that the deputy was headed westbound to an active domestic incident in the lake area when a southbound vehicle struck the deputy’s vehicle.
Foote says that there was a third vehicle involved in the accident that received damage.
Foote says that emergency lights were being used by the deputy at the time of the accident and that the deputy was transported to Avera Sacred Heart with non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.
The accident is being investigated by the Yankton Police Department.
