Crofton Chief Says Mayor has Fired Police Department

It appears that the City of Crofton has dismissed their Police Department.

The official Crofton Police Department Facebook page posted a written statement that appeared to be from Crofton Mayor Bob Evans stating that the city will not renew the contracts of Police Chief John Carter and Sgt. Aubrey Miller effective June 27 (Tuesday).

Chief John Carter says that both he and Sgt. Miller don’t have access to the police station and as of right now, they believe that Crofton is without police services.

Carter says that he believes that the dismissal of both he and Sgt. Miller was unlawful.

KYNT reached out to Mayor Evans for comment, but have not received any word at this time.
