The price for school lunches at the Yankton School District have been set for the 2023-24 school year.
According to the school district, elementary lunch will be $2.50, middle school lunch is $2.70, and high school lunch is $2.80.
YSD Director of Child Nutrition, Laura Horacek says that there was no increase in cost for lunch this year, with the last cost increase at the Yankton School District coming in 2019.
Horacek says that the school district uses a Paid Lunch Equity Tool to run a check on their meal prices.
The school board unanimously approved the cost of lunches for 2023-24.
