The Yankton County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a call regarding a suspicious vehicle led to an on-foot chase and arrest Tuesday.
Yankton County Sheriff Preston Crissey says that officers were called to the area of 449th Ave and 296th St. for a suspicious vehicle in a nearby ditch.
Crissey says that a deputy made contact with the driver, Justin Thompson, Irene, before Thompson fled the scene with what was believed to be a rifle.
Crissey says Thompson was arrested and taken in for outstanding warrants in Turner and Clay Counties.
Crissey says that a rifle was recovered from the scene and is currently under investigation.
