Lange Pleads Guilty but With Mental Illness in Scotland Triple Homicide

Francis Lange pled guilty, but with a mental illness to three counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault Wednesday afternoon.

Lange, 43, is accused of killing his former girlfriend Angela Monclova, Librado Monclova, and Diane Akins in November of 2021.

SD Attorney General Marty Jackley says that with guilty with mental illness plea, Lange will still face life in prison.

Lange is scheduled for sentencing on July 24th at 9:30 a.m. at the Bon Homme County Courthouse.
