The Yankton Police Department is searching for a person of interest in an assault that occurred on the 700 block of Walnut St. Monday.
Yankton Police Chief Jason Foote says that upon arrival at the scene, officers located a female that was seriously injured and was transported to the hospital by ambulance before succumbing to her injuries.
Foote says that officers were able to identify Adrian Vaugh Lund as a person of interest, but have been unable to locate Lund.
Foote says that Lund is 6 ft. tall, with black hair, brown eyes, and weighs 165 lbs.
