Hartington Murder Pre-Trial Conference Delayed Until July

The pre-trial conference for the man charged in a fatal shooting north of Hartington has been delayed.

David Phillips Jr, 20, of Louisiana appeared in court Monday and requested a delay in his pre-trial conference.

The defense cited new evidence in the case that needs to be reviewed before a pre-trial conference is held.

Phillips faces charges of second-degree murder, possession of a stolen firearm, and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.

Phillips will next appear in court on July 24th at 9 a.m. in District Court at the Cedar County Courthouse.
