The Yankton Morning Optimist Club held their 27th annual Baseball Game and Youth Clinic on Monday.
The event saw the Sioux Falls Canaries take on the Sioux City Explorers as well as the announcement of Jake and Sandy Hoffner as the 2023 Riverboat Days Captain and Belle.
Optimist Club member Jesse Bailey says that the event was a great way to kick off the summer.
Bailey says that nearly 70 kids attended the youth clinic and the stands were full to watch the Canaries take on the Explorers.
Bailey says that the event raised $17,000 before expenses.
