The Avera Race against Cancer is this weekend and for the first time ever the race will be coming to Yankton.
Sheila Kuchta with the Avera Foundation says that Sioux Falls race, which is where the race usually takes place, will also be held on Saturday, but there was a strong support from the Yankton community to make a race happen in Yankton.
Kutcha says that the funds raised will help serve cancer patients in a variety of ways.
The Avera Race Against Cancer in Yankton will begin with a cancer survivor photo opportunity at 7:30 a.m. in front of the Pavilion building on the Avera campus.
