An official name for the new Early Childhood Development Center was announced at Monday evening’s Yankton School Board meeting, as the facility will be known as the Trailhead Learning Center when it opens its doors.
Trailhead was one of 78 community suggestions that the naming committee received, committee member Melanie Ryken explained the criteria that went into the naming process.
Ryken explained the significance of the name and how it led to a unanimous vote by the committee.
Ryken also said that the Trailhead Learning Center will have the tagline of “Where the journey begins” when construction is completed. The school district broke ground for the new facility last month.
