The Yankton Fire Department along with Yankton County EMS, the Yankton County Sheriff’s Office and Gayville Fire and Rescue responded to a two-vehicle accident one mile west of Gayville in the eastbound lane of Highway 50 Tuesday Afternoon.
Yankton Deputy Fire Chief Larry Nickles says that one of the vehicles attempted to make a turn when it was struck by the other vehicle.
Nickles says that two people involved in the accident were transported by ambulance with unknown injuries.
The accident is being investigated by the SD Highway Patrol and the Yankton County Sheriff’s Office.
