Yankton School District Breaks Ground

Ground was broken yesterday for Yankton’s Early Childhood Development Center. The new facility will be constructed just south of the Chan Gurney Municipal Airport. Yankton Schools Superintendent Wayne Kindle says the district has placed an emphasis on a positive learning experience for young children because it benefits them throughout their school years.

Kindle says the new center is one of a series of successes for the district in early childhood education.

Construction of the facility is expected to cost between 17 and 21 million dollars. The use of Capital Outlay Certificates will not increase taxes in the district.
