The Yankton School District and the Yankton Police Department are reporting that the middle school was on lockdown for over two hours Tuesday morning after school staff members were alerted to comments stating that a student may have brought a weapon to school.
Authorities are reporting that there was no weapon found and no threats were made towards the students or staff.
Yankton Police Chief Jason Foote says that the incident is still under investigation.
