Early Morning Fire in Vermillion

Vermillion Fire and EMS was called to a fire early this morning at the Apostolic Faith Church on Cottage Avenue.  Vermillion Fire Command says smoke was coming from the attic vents of the one-story building and mutual aid was requested from Gayville and Elk Point.

The department says the fire was extinguished and the building was then torn open to find hot spots. Fire crews were on the scene from around 3 AM to 5:30. Responders say no one was in the building at the time of the fire and no one was injured. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
