The Yankton School District has announced a list of retirements.
- Janine Broscha, YMS ELA, 36 years with YSD
- Allison Moon, Lincoln Kindergarten, 35 years with YSD
- Doug Pesicka, YHS Social Studies, 37 years with YSD
- Lisa Opsahl, Stewart 5th Grade, 35 years with YSD
- Marc Bies, YHS Counselor, 31 years with YSD
- Cindy Somer, YHS Attendance Secretary, 25 years with YSD
Yankton School District Superintendent Dr. Wayne Kindle says that the school district wishes them the best in their retirement.
The retirees were recognized at last night’s school board meeting.
The school district has also announced the resignation of three staff members.
- Neil Hohenthaner, YHS Assistant Track Coach
- Evan Brandner, YHS ELA Teacher
- Marjorie Staller, Lincoln Special Education Teacher
All retirements and resignations within the Yankton School District will go into effect at the end of the 2022-2023 school year, except for Cindy Somer, who will be officially retiring on June 10th.
