School Superintendant Dr. Wayne Kindle says 2022 Yankton Public School enrollment stands at over 28-hundred students. Kindle says he is pleased with that number coming out of over two years of Covid-19.
The school district announced plans for an Early Childhood Development Center this year. Kindle says within a few months the district will know more about what the new facitility will cost.
Kindle says the center will be located near the Yankton airport.
He says some of the greatest challenges recently have been related to the weather. Despite a recent frozen pipe at the Yankton Middle School, Kindle says the facility will be ready for the return of students January third.
