Steve and Wendy Hawkins of Yankton both passed away on Friday, December 23rd after battling cancer.
Steve was the administrator at Yankton EMS for thirteen years.
Troy Cowman, a Senior Paramedic for Yankton EMS, says that the couple will be missed by the Yankton community.
A gofundme was set up by the Hawkins’ children, Trenton, Brad, and Mandi, with a goal of $10,000 to pay for funeral expenses.
Cowman says that the goal has already been surpassed
A joint memorial service for Steve and Wendy will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Yankton at a later date.
