AAA Expects Holiday Travel to go Up This Year Despite Severe Weather

The holiday season brings joy and gatherings to many families across the state, but it also brings winter weather that can hinder travel for many South Dakotan’s.

AAA Manager of Public and Government affairs Shawn Steward describes that despite the harsh weather forecasts, AAA still expects more travelers than in recent years.

Steward goes on to describe why it’s important to be prepared for an emergency while traveling in potentially rough weather conditions.

Steward further states that AAA recommends keeping blankets and extra warm clothing, such as hats and gloves in your car, as well as packing some snacks and bottled water in case of an extended wait for help to arrive.

Steward and AAA remind all who plan to travel to be mindful of the weather as well as your vehicles capabilities, and to plan accordingly during this holiday season.
