Local Pearl Harbor Remembrance Held

On Saturday night, one of our local veterans groups, the 40 and 8, held a Pearl Harbor Remembrance Ceremony at RB Grillhouse and Sportsbar.

Scott Bormann, a veteran who was stationed in Hawaii, explains how America was surprised…

Over the next hour and 15 minutes 2,399 Americans were killed, and 1,178 were wounded. The Japanese fleet lost 65 men.

Bormann talks about why it is still important after 81 years…

The architect of the Pearl Harbor attack, Admiral Yamomoto, knew that he would be waking a sleeping bear if they didn’t cripple the US Pacific Fleet.

Less than 4 years later, the Empire of Japan surrendered on the deck of the USS Missouri on September 2nd, 1945.
