County to Hire Full-Time EMTs

On Tuesday night, the Yankton County Commission met and discussed several items on the agenda.
Yankton County’s Emergency Medical Services has been dealing with a staffing issue, which is making it increasingly difficult to keep shifts fully staffed.
The County’s Lead Paramedic, Troy Cowman, talked about their need….

Commissioner Cheri Loest, acting Chair, summarized the ambulance staffing issue…

The Commission voted unanimously to authorize the Emergency Medical Service to hire 2 full-time EMTs, to more fully cover the county’s coverage needs.
The County Commission will next meet at 6pm on November 1st at the main conference room of the County Government Building.
