Firefighters and Emergency Services were called to a report of a helicopter crash Northwest of Yankton around 10:15 am.
Larry Nickles, the Yankton Deputy Fire Chief says that upon arrival they found a helicopter that had crashed in a field.
Nickles confirmed one person dead in the crash.
Nickles added that the crash is still under investigation and there will be more information throughout the day.
