City Adds Money to West Side Park Project

The Yankton City Commission met on Monday night for its regular meeting, taking up several items on the posted agenda.

The meeting started with Mayor Stephanie Moser issuing proclamations honoring Connecting Cultures and Ability Building Services.

The Commissioners took up Change Order #1 for the Westside Park Pond Improvements, due to soft ground that will not be able to support the construction which is still to come.

Commissioner Nathan Johnson expressed why he supports this change order…

The Commission also considered extra funds needed for the McVay Family Reflection Garden and to repair the ground were buildings which had been moved to the Mead Building used to stand.

Johnson did the number-crunching and gave this summary…

The Commission voted to pass all three proposals.

The Yankton City Commission next meets at 7:00 pm on September 26th in room 114 of the Career Manufacturing Technical Education Academy, preceded by a work session at 6:00 pm. Both meetings are open to the public.
