Trail Delayed For Creighton Man Charged With Murder

The trial for a Creighton, Nebraska man charged with his infant son’s death has been rescheduled for August.

29-year-old Edward Davis faces charges in relation to the January 2021 death of his 4-month-old son Ender Davis. The father has been charged with one count of child abuse resulting in death and one count of manslaughter.

District Court Clerk Matt Fischer Davis says Davis appeared this week in Knox County District Court for what was originally scheduled as a pre-trial conference.

Knox County public defender Rodney Smith had previously filed a motion to continue the pre-trial conference and jury trial. The state had no objection to the defense motion. The court continued the pre-trial conference to 9 a.m. July 26th at the Knox County Courthouse.

The jury trial, originally set for this month, has been rescheduled to begin on August 15th. Davis has waived his right to a speedy trial.

Davis was arrested in December in Texas and transported by Knox County authorities back to Nebraska.
