Yankton Suspicious Death To Remain A Mystery

The details of a March suspicious death in Yankton will remain a mystery to the public.

Back in mid-March, the Yankton Police Department was called to a residence in the 700 block of West 11th Street to investigate a death that occurred.

Yankton Police Chief Jason Foote says that officers responded to an ambulance call for an unresponsive male, and the male was pronounced deceased at Avera Sacred Heart hospital.

The police department recently received the details of the autopsy investigation. However, Foote says after consulting with the Yankton County state’s attorney’s office, they will not be releasing the autopsy information.

Several calls placed by KYNT News to Yankton County State’s Attorney Rob Klimisch have not been returned.

Foote did not release the identity of the deceased or why they investigated the death.
