Yankton Area Arts is pleased to announce that Madison Reisner has been named the recipient of the annual Yankton Area Arts (YAA) Scholarship.
Yankton Area Arts have a long tradition of arts education, advocacy, and cultural enrichment programming in our community.
Yankton Area Arts Executive Director Julie Amsberry says that it is proven that students who participate in the arts receive higher test scores and graduate at higher rates than those not involved in the arts. That is why, in 1990, YAA established a scholarship to be awarded to a graduating YHS senior who is planning to pursue their education in one of the art disciplines.
Reisner will attend Wayne State College to major in Secondary English Education with a minor in Theater.
