On Monday night, the Yankton City Commission chose which commissioner would serve as the Mayor of Yankton for the next year.
Mayor Stephanie Moser was the only commissioner nominated for the position, so was unanimously selected by the other 8 commissioners.
Moser is excited for the future….
The citizens of Yankton do not directly elect the mayor, instead electing the 9 commissioners for 3-year terms. Those commissioners then choose who serves as mayor each year.
