A two-vehicle car accident occurred north of Yankton Friday night.
Yankton Chief Deputy Sheriff Michael Rothschadl says that Friday at 7:38 PM, the Sheriff’s Office responded to an injury accident at the corner of Hwy 50 & 430th Avenue.
He says a 2015 Ford F250 driven by 21-year-old Dawson Phillips of Winner was traveling eastbound on Highway 50 with an attached horse trailer when a 2008 Toyota Highlander driven by 64-year-old David Sturrock of Marshall MN was in the turning lane westbound to the turn south on 430th Avenue. Sturrock pulled in front of the eastbound vehicle. The driver and passenger in the Toyota were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. The driver and passengers in the Ford F250 were treated at the scene.
Responding to the accident Friday were the Yankton County Sheriff’s Office, Tabor Ambulance, Yankton Fire Department, Yankton Emergency Management, Yankton Ambulance, Lesterville Fire Department, and South Dakota Highway Patrol.
The SD Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
