Five of the six Republican candidates for three open seats on the Yankton County Commission met in a forum sponsored by Interchange and Yankton Thrive on Monday.
Bruce Jensen, John Marquardt, incumbent Dan Klimisch, Christopher Barkl, and Ryan Heine attended the event. Candidate Duane Becker was not able to attend.
A wide array of topics was discussed including zoning, affordable housing, inflation, the west Yankton sanitary sewer district study, and others.
Three of the six Republican candidates will advance out of the June 7th primaries to the general election. Those three men will face incumbent Cheri Loest and challenger Matt Evans in the November general election.
