The Yankton City Commission Monday night awarded a bid of approximately one point one million dollars for renovations to the Westside Park Pond, but not without some heated discussion.
One a six to three vote, the commissioners awarded the low bid to LT Companies Inc, based out of Tea South Dakota. Commissioners Ben Brunick, Mason Schramm, and Tony Maibaum voted against the motion.

The pond project will include dredging of the pond, island stabilization, a new bridge, landscaping around the pond, and a small lookout area. The project completion date has a deadline of late October.
