Yankton Middle School placed first in the 28th annual South Dakota Science Olympiad State Tournament at USD in Vermillion.
As a result of their victory, the Yankton Middle School team has been invited to participate in the virtual National Science Olympiad Tournament hosted by Caltech University on May 13th and 14th.
The Yankton Middle School Science Olympiad team is Coached by Nicole Mehlhaff and Cheryl Schaeffer. The Yankton Sacred Heart Middle School received second place in the recent competition. They are coached by Sarah Wald.
In the high school division, Yankton High School received second place. They are coached by Lindsay Kortan and Ashlee Fleming.
