A Lake Yankton area small business owner has announced his candidacy to run as a Republican in the June primary for a spot on the Yankton County Commission.
Ryan Heine of rural Yankton submitted his necessary paperwork before Tuesday’s filing deadline.

Heine joins a lengthy list of Republican County Commission candidates including Bruce Jensen, Christopher Barkl, Duane Becker, John Marquardt, and incumbent Dan Klimisch. Incumbent commissioners Cheri Loest and Joe Healy have not filed for reelection yet. Since they are both Independents, they have until April 26th if they intend to run for reelection.
