The Yankton Police Department is continuing its investigation of a death that occurred Saturday night in the 700 block of West 11th Street.
Yankton Police Chief Jason Foote says that officers responded to an ambulance call for an unresponsive male, and the male was pronounced deceased at Avera Sacred Heart hospital.
Foote adds that despite rumors, there was no shooting and it is not a murder investigation.
Autopsy and toxicology tests results are pending, and Foote says his department will release the details of the death investigation in the next couple of weeks. There is no danger to the public.
Foote did not release the identity of the deceased or why they are investigating the death.
