A Yankton man has been sentenced in federal court on a charge of strangling.
According to the Nebraska US Attorney’s office, 36-year-old Lloyd Francis Jandreau of Yankton was sentenced in federal court for assault on an intimate partner by strangling.
Jandreau was sentenced to two years in prison. There is no parole in the federal system. After his release from prison, he will begin a 3-year term of supervised release.
Court documents indicate that on or about January 11th, of 2021, Jandreau assaulted a woman he had previously dated while on the Santee Sioux Nation Indian Reservation in Santee. Jandreau assaulted the victim by strangling her.
This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Santee Sioux Nation Tribal Police Department.
