The Yankton Police Department continues to look for a driver involved in a Thursday evening car accident in Yankton.
Yankton Police Chief Jason Foote says that on Thursday evening just before 5:00 PM, officers were dispatched to the Railroad crossing near 30th and West City Limits Road for a report of a single motor vehicle collision.
Foote says upon arrival, officers located a 2006 Jeep liberty that had collided with the west Rail Road Crossing signal post. The vehicle sustained significant front-end damage. The driver was not located on the scene. Witnesses stated the driver was picked up by an unidentified individual shortly after the collision.
