Two Yankton County employees received minor injuries following a rollover accident near Lestervillle Thursday morning.
According to Yankton County Chief Deputy Sheriff Michael Rothschadl, on Thursday at 9:30 AM, the Yankton County Sheriff’s responded to a rollover accident on 300th Street between 434th & 435th Avenue near Lestervillle.
He says a dump truck owned by the Yankton County Highway Department, driven by 21-year-old Alfonso Erickson of Yankton, was headed westbound on 300th Street with a full load of gravel. The vehicle crossed the center line and overcorrected. The truck went into the south ditch and rolled. The vehicle had extensive damage. 49-year-old William Taggart of Yankton was a passenger in the vehicle.
Taggart is an employee of the Yankton County Highway Department and Alfonso Erickson is an intern with the Yankton County Highway Department. Both individuals were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
