Yankton Loses Hotel To Housing Crisis

The Yankton community has recently lost a hotel to the ongoing housing crisis in Yankton.

According to the Yankton County Register of Deeds office, the former home of Broadway Inn in Yankton was sold for one point four million dollars earlier this month to a Minnesota Property Company who buys properties for American Foods Group. American Foods Group owns Cimpl Meats in Yankton.

Yankton Attorney Ross Den Herder helped facilitate the transaction. He says in theory, the Minnesota based Henry Street Properties, LLC, who is listed on the deed transaction, purchases properties on behalf of their client, American Foods Group.

Cimpl Meats will be using the hotel rooms as temporary housing for employees of Cimpl Meats.

The former home of the Broadway Inn hotel has thirty-seven units.
