Yankton Takes First Step Towards Regional Mental Health Facility

The Yankton City Commissioners all agreed this week to donate a parcel of city-owned land to Lewis and Clark Behavioral Health Services.

The donated land is one of the first steps towards construction of a seventeen-million-dollar regional mental health facility at the intersection of Shirley Bridge Avenue and 31st Street.

Lewis and Clark Executive Director Dr. Tom Stanage says this proposed facility with revolutionize the way mental health services are provided…

Stanage adds that currently, there are no local viable options for residential crisis care…

With the project still in the development stages, no timeline on construction has been revealed yet.
