Yankton Leaders Will Decide Fate Of Wastewater Treatment Plant

The Yankton City Commission has a long slate of year end agenda items at their meeting Monday night, including a major decision on the fate of the 1964-built wastewater treatment plant.

The City Commissioners are encouraging public feedback on either a retrofit and rehabilitation project for the facility, estimated at 44.5 million dollars, or relocation of the plant at an estimated cost of 88 million dollars.

Leon adds that there will possibly be some federal dollars available to help with the cost of the project…

Leon encourages public feedback at the meeting Monday evening. The Yankton City Commission meets at 7 p.m. inside of the RTEC meeting room.
