Yankton County Commission To Discuss Bike Path Upgrades

The Yankton County Commission is scheduled to consider advertising bids on the Highway 52 bike path during its regular meeting Tuesday.

The bike path proposal would be a two-inch asphalt overlay over the existing recreation trail the entire length and width of the trail. The trails length is approximately forty-two hundred feet long by teen feet wide. The section of the trail to be asphalt paved would be between West City Limits Road east along Highway 52 to Chalkstone Road at the bottom of the hill on Highway 52.

The Commissioners will also take up a resolution to reduce the speed limit on the curve just north of Gayville by the city cemetery.

In addition, the commissioners Tuesday night will also discuss liquor license renewals, the second reading for a planned unit development, IT services, insurance quotes and a possibility of a HR training program.

The Yankton County Commission meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the commission chambers of the Yankton County Government Center.
